A New Journey
In the Publishing World
As a little girl, I always enjoyed summer trips to the library. I would peruse the titles on the numerous bookshelves. Taking my time, I finally would select one. I can still remember the smell of the books as I flipped through the well-worn pages. Each book held a place where my imagination could run wild confined only by the words of the author. Sometimes not even the author's words could bind my mind. It would imagine alternate endings and other ways the story could have been developed.
Then I would take out my spiral notebook and write my own short story. Dreaming of the day when I would go to a bookstore or library and see my own name on the spines of the books I had created. Then life happened.
I used my words to teach and train not one baby, not two, but a total of five. Each with a different personality, unique strengths, and their own soul to train to love the Lord. Instead of writing, I poured myself into reading them books. From Dr. Seuss to Little House on the Prairie, my children grew up enriched by books and trips to the library.
In my spare time, I wrote. I focused on poetry for awhile. Artistically describing my children, a situation, or the outdoors. They were short, but still a creative outlet for me. Then I expanded to short stories and children's books. Who knows one day I might publish one of them? Later, I wrote and published a cookbook.
And now...I am on a new journey. An adventure into writing, compiling, and publishing my own books. Follow me as I continue walking in faith and see where God leads me.
